Privacy Policy
Last updated 20 October 2026
This notice covers the public PartsHub Africa website: the pages at partshub.africa that describe the marketplace and invite you to get in touch. The marketplace itself is not yet open. It will publish its own, fuller privacy policy before it does.
Who is responsible
The controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
COMPOWER GmbH, Wieselweg 46, 76228 Karlsruhe, Germany
Managing director: Dipl.-Ing. Uwe Günzel
Email: info@compower.com, telephone: +49 721 453630
When you visit the website
Like every web server, ours records each request it receives: your IP address, the date and time, the page you asked for, the page you came from, and your browser and device type. We use these records only to keep the website running and secure, for example to find errors and to defend against attacks. They are deleted automatically after 14 days.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
The website runs on servers in the European Union, rented from Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, which processes the data on our behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).
Cookies
The website sets two technical cookies, which it needs to work securely:
partshub-africa-session, which keeps track of your visit, andXSRF-TOKEN, which protects forms against being submitted from other websites.
Both expire after two hours. Because they are strictly necessary for the website to work, they do not need your consent (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). Legal basis for the data in them: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
We do not use analytics or tracking tools, advertising networks or social-media plug-ins, and no cookies for advertising or to follow you across other websites. Fonts and images are served from our own server, so visiting the website does not send your data to anyone else.
When you write to us
The "Email us" buttons open your own email program and address a message to info@partshub.africa. If you send us an email, we receive your email address and what you write, and use them only to answer you and to deal with your request. Our mailbox is provided by Hetzner Online GmbH (address above), which also processes it on our behalf under a data processing agreement.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), or, where your message is about a possible business relationship, steps before a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We keep the correspondence for as long as we need it for your request and any follow-up, and longer only where the law requires us to keep business letters.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict its use, to receive it in a common format, and to object to its use where we rely on our legitimate interest (Art. 15–21 GDPR). To exercise any of them, write to info@compower.com. We will first make sure the request comes from you.
You may also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one responsible for us: the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg, Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany.
If you are in Ghana, you also have the rights given by the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), and may complain to Ghana's Data Protection Commission.
Changes to this notice
We will update this notice when the website changes what it does with personal data, for example when the marketplace opens or we start a newsletter. The date at the top shows the current version.
